THE FUTURE PSYCHOPHARMACOLOGY OF MOOD
AND ANXIETY DISORDERS
Dennis S. Charney
Essentially, all pharmacological
treatments for Mood and Anxiety disorders are based upon mechanisms of action
known for over three decades. Given that mood disorders are possibly the
most disabling of all medical disorders, the discovery of novel therapeutic
approaches is at a critical stage. This presentation will review the treatment
implications of recent research on the neurobiology of mood and anxiety
disorders in the context of identification of new drug targets.
